Belgium's David Goffin not giving up Davis Cup dream
David Goffin still believes he can drag Belgium back into the Davis Cup final despite Saturday's defeat to Great Britain in the doubles.
Goffin was drafted in for the third match of the final to play alongside Steve Darcis as Belgium looked to restore the advantage he had given them on day one.
However, the British duo of Andy and Jamie Murray were too strong for them and recorded a 6-4 4-6 6-3 6-2 win to put the visitors 2-1 ahead heading into Sunday's singles matches.
Goffin will be first up for the hosts to try and keep their title dreams alive, but he faces the tough task of beating Andy Murray if he is to do so.
"I'm still confident for tomorrow, even if we lost the match today," said the world number 16. "I'm feeling good with my groundstrokes and everything is okay for tomorrow.
"I'm ready to give everything."
Belgium captain Johan Van Herck echoed his number one's confidence and says the hosts have the strength within their four-man team to complete the turnaround.
"We're going to show tomorrow that we're a strong group," he added. "We're a strong team, and we're going to try to solve this together.
"We're all going to be ready to fight again. Anything can happen in Davis Cup."
