Gay teacher remanded

The suspect, Joshua Baayi was arrested by the Atebubu-Amantin Police after he attempted to have sex with a 19-year-old SHS Student.

The suspected gay teacher Joshua Baayi has been remanded by a district magistrate court at Atebubu in the Brong-Ahafo Region.

The court presided over by Joseph Nasigri remanded Joshua Baayi, into police custody to reappear on October 4, 2016.

The 31-year-old teacher is in police custody for allegedly luring some male students into homosexuality.

Atebubu-Amantin Police Commander Chief Superintendent Joseph Atsu Dzinaku said his outfit received information that the suspect has been pestering the student to be his friend through social media.

He indicated that the teacher, who admitted that he has been an active homosexual since 2003, has been having anal sex with some unnamed students and indigenes.

Chief Supt. Joseph Atsu Dzinaku said after receiving the information, the police trailed him and arrested him.
