Jason Day at the Masters: It's tough out there

World number one Jason Day survived some treacherous conditions at Augusta in the second round of the Masters to stay in touch with the leaders.

Day struck one-over-par despite sitting at two under on the 10th hole on a day where wind wreaked havoc with scores.

He gave back shots on 11, 13 and 18 to give him a score of one over heading into round three.

With conditions set to get even more difficult, Day said he was satisfied with where he stood.

"They're predicting it's going to get tougher and that may bring the scores back," Day said when asked how he felt his one-over total would hold up at the end of the day.

"Obviously it's not going to be near the lead though it depends how Jordan [Speith] is going. He seems to love this golf course and love this place so it all depends on where he's at.

"But if it gets tougher, and they're predicting it's going to get tougher, then sitting at one-over-par isn't too bad."

Day likened the conditions to another of the majors.

"It's almost like a US Open out there where you're almost just trying to survive," he said.

"Par is tough out there, I think you're probably looking at one-over is par for us. Obviously if you shoot even or better you're probably moving forward a little bit."
