Man Dies Of Self-Inflicted Gunshot Wound At Universal Studios

The ex-boyfriend of a Universal Studios employee in Hollywood shot and killed himself inside the theme park Friday afternoon, authorities said.

‘This individual stood up, turned around, retrieved a handgun from his back pocket or somewhere in his back area,’ said Lt. Eddie Hernandez, from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department (LASD).

An officer had reportedly tried to talk him out of killing himself.

Questions are now being asked about how the man managed to get the weapon inside the venue.

Lt Hernandez added: ‘The security measures that are in place right now don’t include pat-downs and don’t include wanding or metal detectors. They do include checking purses and bags.’

The man had a child with his ex-girlfriend but their relationship had become strained, and she had taken out two restraining orders, Metro.co.uk reported
