According to the prosecution, John Paintsil was invited to the East Legon police station to answer questions in relation to his wife Richlove Paintsil’s report of the former Fulham and West Ham player taking her car without her knowledge.

During the interrogations, Paintsil got angry and punched a police officer. He was arrested and later granted bail to the tune of 5000 Ghana cedis.

The hearing of John Paintsil was adjourned on Monday after State Prosecutors failed to produce his docket on Monday, June 13, 2016.

The Accra circuit court returned to the case on Tuesday, June 14, 2016 where John Paintsil pleaded not guilty to the charges with his lawyers led by Kojoga Adawudu informing the court that they will contest against all four charges levelled against the former Black Stars defender.
