Steve Cook scored the first goal of the game on the brink of half time to send AFC Bournemouth 1-0 up going into the first half break.

Joshua King doubled the lead for the away team before Jordan Ayew scored in the 2-1 defeat for Aston Villa.

The Ghanaian forward played in the entire duration of the game receiving a yellow card booking.

Aston Villa went into the game against Norwich City 15 points from the next safe spot on the Premier League log occupied by Norwich City at 17th position with six games to be placed.

The defeats by both Aston Villa and Norwich City means the point difference stays at 15 with five games to play.

Norwich City are 19 goals better than Aston Villa in goal difference and with Jordan Ayew and his team travelling to play Manchester United at Old Trafford next week, they might just officially have one more week left in the English Premier League.
