The politician accused Toure of infecting TV and radio personality Afia Schwarzenegger with HIV claiming the player had tested positive to the virus during a move to Tunisia.
Hon. Agyapong also claimed Ahmed Toure dated Afia Schwarzenegger and lived in the same room with the radio presenter.
Ahmed Toure has officially submitted a writ to the Minister of Parliament, suing him for ‘defamatory comments’.
In the legal document sent to Hon. Kennedy Agyapong by Ahmed Toure’s representatives Sambian & Co Barristers and Solicitors, the player has suffered public humiliation since the comments about his health status were made.
The writ also states that Ahmed Toure’s contrac with a Vietnam club has been put on hold and the player is undergoing monumental stress which is affecting his professional football career.
The legal document stated their client Ahmed Toure is not enthused by Hon. Kennedy Agyapong’s conduct and has ordered them to demand the following:
