KMA fails to elect Presiding Member again

The Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) has once again, failed to elect a Presiding Member after the sixth attempt.

Abraham Boadi, Assembly Member for Ridge-Nhyiaso Electoral Area polled 69 votes while Adusei Bonsu Micheal, Assembly Member for Asafo Dadieso Aba Electoral area had 50 votes.
Assembly members are currently locked in a meeting to deliberate on the way forward.
The Assembly has been without a Metropolitan Chief Executive and a Presiding Member as efforts to elect one always ended in a chaos.

Attempts by KMA to elect a PM last week proved futile as the exercise was marred by violence between some Assembly members.
The elections held on Tuesday, September 27 failed to produce two-thirds majority of the votes as required by law, hence the need to conduct another poll.
