Residents rush to siphon fuel as tanker overturns

Some passengers on board a commercial vehicle narrowly escaped death when a fuel tanker with registration number GM 6894-13 overturned at the Anloga Junction in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region.

The vehicle is reported to have been travelling from Tema in the Greater Accra region and heading towards the Northern region when the accident occured leading to the fuel being spilled on the ground.

The youth in the community, as well as taxi and trotro drivers are scooping the fuel from the ground in spite of the danger involved.

Meanwhile, the police and fire personnel have arrived at the scene to control the situation.
