Deputy Consul-General says Lagos, Ogun economically, politically important to china
The Deputy Consul-General of China, Mr Li Youg said on Monday that Lagos and Ogun states were economically and politically important to his country because of their strategic location.
A statement by CSP Adebowale Lawal, the Police Public Relations Officer of Zone 2, said in Lagos that Youg made the assertion when he visited AIG Bala Hazan at his Zonal Headquarters, at Onikan.
The statement quoted Youg as saying that the two states were among the state where the people of china were domiciled more in Nigeria.
According to the statement, made availabe to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), about 60 per cent of chinese under Youg’s watch are domiciled in the states.
It said that the deputy-consul general expressed satisfaction with how crime was being tackled in the states.
It, however, noted that crime in the states were reduced compared to what it was earlier.
It pleaded with the AIG for adequate security for Chinese while carrying out their lawful businesses and at their various residences.
