The minister for Special Development Initiatives Hawa Koomson who disclosed this said the policy will be temporarily implemented through a 10-member committee until the bill for the creation of the development of authorities is passed in Parliament.

The promise to spend $1 million on every district is targeted at alleviating poverty and local intervention programmes, the president, Nana Akufo-Addo has said.

He announced introducing the policy during his campaigns ahead of the 2016 elections.

The party promised to set up development authorities which will be used as vehicles to implement the policy.

Many fear that the policy will not materialise any moment from now since the bills for the development authorities are yet to be passed by Parliament.

But the sector minister Hawa Koomson told Accra-based Joy FM that her outfit is using alternative means to implement the policy while waiting for the bill to be passed in Parliament.

She said six of the regions have already submitted a report on what development projects they will embark on if the one million dollars is disbursed to the various constituencies in their regions.

The other four regions are expected to do so on Friday.
