Magnificent Marc Marquez's love affair with the German MotoGP continued when the championship leader stormed to pole, while Jorge Lorenzo could only qualify in 11th after crashing twice on Saturday.

Marquez has won in each of the last three years at the Sachsenring after starting on pole and the Repsol Honda rider gave himself a great chance of extending that run by setting the pace with a flawless display.

The two-time world champion was quickest in the third practice session and clocked a blistering lap of one minute 21.160 seconds to seal a fourth straight pole position in the premier class.
