Appiah Kubi is living his dream of combining playing football and chieftaincy role and according to him he has managed to jump the initial challenges that came with it.

"I'm from Nkoranza in the Brong Ahafo region and I'm the chief of Sefwiman. It's been three years since I was enstooled as chief, I had then returned from Madagascar. I made the elders aware I wouldn't leave my football career for the chieftaincy role".

"They initially didn't like the idea but I argued I wouldn't want to leave my passion for people especially the aged to worship me as a chief. It doesn't affect me because I perform rituals yearly and in the adjudicating of cases and emergency situations, I have elders who do that in my absence. I only go back in emergency situations".

"The entire playing body and management of Kotoko know I'm a chief, initially it was only the coach who knew about it. Even before that the players and everyone gave me the maximum respect needed.

"I have elders who will be in charge and see through the smooth running of my administration so I'm opened to contracts outside the country".
