Asofa-Solomona was replaced after 25 minutes of Sunday's 29-20 defeat of Wests Tigers at AAMI Park after damaging his left knee.
The Storm on Monday revealed that the 20-year-old tore his posterior cruciate ligament and is set to be sidelined until mid to late August.
"Nelson's injury is disappointing given he has contributed greatly to the forward pack's success so far this year," Storm football director Frank Ponissi said.
"As has been the case over the opening half of the season, the squad has proven its depth and resilience. The opportunity is now there for another player to step up."
