Most Valuable Player to get plot of land

The organisers of the national cup contest have announced that the best player of this season’s FA Cup will be rewarded with a plot of land worth GHC 20,000

Kofi Poku, the vice chairman of the MTN FA Cup organizing commmittee has disclosed that the Most Valuable Player of the competitionwill be handed a plot of land worth GHC 20,000.

The MTN FA Cup has existed since 1958, but went on hibernation between 2002 and 2009-10, however MTN revived the competition as the headline sponsors in the 2010-11 season and the Ghana Football Association who are the organisers of the competition have brought something new to improve the standard of the competition by getting a new sponsors to take care of the best player of the tournament in addition what MTN offers.

According to Kofi Poku he brokered the deal that will honour the most outstanding player of the season.

“Starting from this season the best player of the MTN FA Cup will be rewarded with a plot of land worth GHC 20,000. I sealed the sponsorship package  three days ago to help recognize the contribution of the best individual performer,” he told Happy FM.

Kwesi Donsu of Medeama was voted the best player of the MTN FA Cup last season, after helping Medeama beat Kotoko in the final.

The FA Cup will enter the round of 32 this week with exciting fixtures that will tie teams from even the lower divisions against premier league sides, whereas some of the clashes will be teams from the same division.
