Murray makes third Cincinnati final

The win extended the world number two's unbeaten streak to 22 games while fourth seed Raonic, after losing to Murray at both the Queens and Wimbledon finals, was unable to make his fourth ATP 1000 final.

Murray was fortunate to a degree initially in the semi-final on Saturday, securing a break point before rain delayed play in the opening game, hurting any rhythm Raonic had on serve.

Olympic gold medallist Murray crucially held in the fifth game, having to save two break points to that moment, to eventually break the Canadian again and win the set.

Although Raonic tested Murray, he ultimately failed to capitalise on openings in points.

Murray did on the other hand, getting the deciding break in the eighth game of the second and after setting up double match-point with a brilliant off-forehand on the rise, Raonic saved them both.

Raonic had finally forced a third break point for the match as a result, but indicative of his night, drove Murray's relatively tame second serve into the net.

Murray will now face the winner of Marin Cilic and Grigor Dimitrov in the Cincinnati final.
