Doctors to lay down tools over abuse from biomedical scientists
Doctors at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital have threatened to lay down their tools over what they describe as threats and abuse from biomedical scientists at the hospital. According to the doctors, the biomedical scientists are preventing them from using the various laboratories at the hospital. Deputy General Secretary of the Ghana Medical Association, Justice Yankson says the attitude of the biomedical scientists is rather unfortunate.

The Attorney General Marietta Brew Appiah-Oppong has submitted her report to the Chief of Staff on the controversial $3.6 million that was spent rebranding of some 116 government buses. The revelation of the cost of branding the buses led to public outcry with Parliament also asking for further answers on what led to the high cost. The Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah, later directed the Attorney General's department ''to review the contract and associated payments''. It is, however, unclear what is contained in the AG report which has been submitted.
Maternal health in danger as 500 midwives retire by 2016
The Ghana Health Service has written to government to help retain about 500 midwives who are due for retirement by 2016. The Director General of the Ghana Health Service, Dr. Ebenezer Appiah-Denkyira said the move is to ensure that there is availability of midwives to enhance health delivery particularly in the rural areas. Ghana currently does not have enough midwives in the country, as 2010 statistics indicated that Ghana needs an additional 8,000 midwives to fill the gap if maternal health is to be improved.
I will quit as PLB boss: Abra-Appiah reiterate
The Ghana Premier League Board Chairman, Welbeck Abra-Appiah insists he will leave his position as head of the premier league boss before the start of the new football season.Mr. Welbeck Abra-Appiah, who has served as chairman of premier league clubs for a decade, disclosed that he will leave his job before the end of next season.But media reports emerged that the FA has asked him to stay on until further notice. But Abra-Appiah says he won't be in office when the new season starts.
