General Secretary of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) party, Johnson Asiedu Nketia has urged the Police to immediately arrest the running mate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Dr Mahamadu Bawumiah for deceiving Ghanaians. Addressing a press conference, Asiedu Nketia accused Dr. Bawumia of concocting a document he claimed to be the Togolese voters register.
Abu Sakara quits CPP?
Dr Abu Sakara, the 2012 presidential candidate of the Convention People’s Party has left the party to contest the 2016 presidential elections as an independent candidate. In a statement, Dr. Sakara said “The purpose will be to provide a more focused national interest platform on which we can truly build national consensus around the key issues that will really transform our nation for the good of all of us.”
Ghana bought electricity from Cote D'Ivoire - ACEP
Pulse.com.gh has learnt Ghana bought 250 megawatts of power from Cote D’ivore in December to help ease the loadshedding during the Christmas festivities.Executive Director of Africa Centre for Energy Policy Mohammed Amin Adam in an interview with Pulse.com.ghsaid,” Ghana bought 100 megawatts from the Cote D’ivoire on December 30 and on the following day (December 31) Ghana bought an additional 150 megawatts to ensure stable power supply”.
Fire destroys Asante Kotoko pitch
Ghana Premier League side Kumasi Asante Kotoko were dealt a huge blow in their preparations towards the upcoming league season on Wednesday as their training pitch caught fire. The Premier League giants had to call fire fighters in a bid to save they burning dreams in relation to training for match fitness. The fire also engulfed the metal post with the nets on them getting destroyed by the flames.
