Schools closed over late Okuapehene's funeral
The Ghana Education Service (GES) has closed down schools in both the Akuapim North and South Districts in the Eastern region due to the fear and panic that has engulfed the area ahead of the final funeral rites of the Okuapehene Oseadeyo Addo Dankwa II. The week long funeral rites began on Monday. The schools were closed down on Friday and expected to re-open after the funeral ceremony of the Paramount Chief.
Europe must invest in Africa - Matteo Renzi
The Italian Prime Minister, Matteo Renzi has called on other European countries to invest in Africa in order to send the right message to future generations. According to him, Italy is passionate about its investment in Ghana. He is in Ghana on a two-day work visit.
Drivers on nationwide strike
Road transport operators in Ghana have declared a nationwide strike beginning next Monday, February 8.The operators whose membership includes the Ghana Private Roads Transport Union (GPRTU) and the Ghana Roads Transport Coordinating Council (GRTCC) are protesting the increase in motor insurance premium.
Asamoah Gyan to miss AFCON?
