Broncos general manager John Elway announced the team have agreed to a three-year extension with star wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders via Twitter.

The contract is reportedly worth $33million and will keep Sanders with the Broncos through the 2019 season. His initial three-year, $15m contract expires after this season.

Elway said he loves the way Sanders competes and the intensity with which the 29-year-old plays.

Sanders caught 76 passes for 1,135 yards and six touchdowns last season and led all players in Super Bowl 50 with six receptions for 83 yards.

A third-round pick of the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2010, Sanders is entering his third season in Denver and was a Pro Bowler in 2014. For his career Sanders has 338 receptions for 4,569 yards and 26 touchdowns.
