France scraped past Ireland with a 10-9 victory on Saturday, after they narrowly defeated Italy 23-21 in their tournament opener - and Noves' first match in charge - last week.

"Like last week, the win feels good," he said. "The victory is certainly tasty, especially when it is difficult to acquire.

"But I was not satisfied with our play in the first 30 minutes and I think the players have understood that at halftime.

"I salute the players' ferocious will to impose their game and not let Ireland dictate play.

"If you add what we did well last week with the attitude we showed today, I think we’re starting to get on the right track."
