Our Encounter with Nana Addo not cancelled - IEA
Governance think tank, the Institute of Economic Affairs (IEA) has denied reports that it has cancelled the planned Evening Encounter with the presidential nominee of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
But the IEA, in a statement signed by Mrs Jean Mensah and copied to Pulse.com.gh said the claims are untrue and should be ignored.
“We wish to inform the general public and all well meaning Ghanaians that this release is false and fictitious and did not emanate from the IEA. That someone or a group of persons will carry out this mischief is indeed very serious,” the statement said.
“We call on the public and interested parties to disregard that fictitious statement and treat it with the contempt that it deserves,” it added.
Meanwhile, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has indicated that its flag bearer, Nana Akufo-Addo, will appear at the Institute of Economic Affairs’ Evening Encounter with presidential nominees, after the launch of the party’s manifesto in October.
The IEA Evening Encounter with the NPP flag bearer has been postponed twice, first in July and later in August.
