Pagenaud seals third consecutive Indycar win
Simon Pagenaud continued his IndyCar Series dominance after victory at the Angie's List Grand Prix of Indianapolis saw him seal a third consecutive win in 2016.
After finishing second in the first two races of the season, Pagenaud has gone on to win the next three to take control of the drivers' standings.
The Team Penske driver now has a 76-point lead over team-mate and defending series champion Scott Dixon, who finished down in seventh at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Saturday.
"The car was fantastic once again," Pagenaud said. "The balance was perfect all race.
"When we were in the lead, we were cruising, doing what we could to save the tires. But the car was just fantastic to drive.
"What a day. Three races! It’s incredible to win three in a row like this and here in Indy for me, it's very special. I lived here for nine years so this place is very special in my heart."
Pagenaud led 57 of the 82 laps to take the chequered flag ahead of team-mate Helio Castroneves, who had started down in 13th.
James Hinchcliffe rounded out the podium places, with Graham Rahal and Charlie Kimball finishing fourth and fifth respectively.
