The Barcelona players who turned up were Rakitic, Gerrard Pique, Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez and they were excited to post their photos with former teammate Neymar on social media.

Neymar dragged them through one of the most arduous transfer sagas in football history, ultimately leaving them and their trophy hopes in the dust – but when there's cake, there's cake.

And according to Spanish news site Cadena Ser, the Barcelona board are less than happy, writing: "The board thinks what happened is intolerable."

The pictures emerged not too long after the Barcelona publicly denounced Neymar's move to PSG and demanded €8.5 million for breach of contract.

Barcelona aren't having a great time of it at the moment, and there are rumours that a rift has emerged between the board and players since Neymar's transfer. Cadena Ser wrote:

"The cold relationship between directive and players comes from weeks ago, when Piqué said that the players knew that Neymar was going to go to PSG since the wedding of Messi. Within a few hours of saying this, Pep Segura, general manager of the club, pointed to Pique for the defeat against Real Madrid at the Camp Nou."
