Liverpool forward, Raheem Sterling has informed the club of his intention to leave this summer.

According to several reports from the UK media, the forward told Liverpool manager, Brendan Rodgers of is decision to seek for fresh challenges away from the club.

The forward reportedly informed Rodgers of his exit decision before the recent 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge.

The decision however does not lie with Sterling but he has agreed to a final round of discussions with the club as the Reds make a last ditch attempt to convince him his future is on Merseyside.

Sterling has over two years left on his contract and Rodgers has in the past insisted that the forward won't be allowed  to leave even if he doesn't sign a new deal.
