Reagan Campbell-Gillard Penrith Panthers NRL

Penrith Panthers will be without Reagan Campbell-Gillard in the NRL finals after the front-rower fractured his back during Saturday's 15-14 win over Gold Coast Titans.

Campbell-Gillard was taken to hospital after being injured when he was hit by a third man in a tackle during a victory which sealed the Panthers' spot in the top eight.

The 23-year-old is set for three months on the sidelines due to a broken L2 and L3 transverse process on the right side of his back.

Panthers coach Anthony Griffin said after the game: "I'm not one to whinge, but I've got a player there with a broken disc in his back by the looks and he didn't get an opportunity to defend himself,

"It was sort of like a cannonball tackle or whatever you call it.

"He obviously got a heavy tackle in the back there. I'd have to have a look at the tape but I hope the NRL have a close look at it."
