Emiliano Grillo can breathe a huge sigh of relief after his lost clubs were tracked down before Thursday's tee off for the golf competition at the Rio Olympics.

The Argentinian was left fearing for his place in the competition after his bag was lost in transit en route to Brazil.

Grillo took to social media in a desperate bid to track down the missing clubs, creating a poll asking his followers where they thought his irons and woods may be and cheekily suggesting that if his equipment was part of the Pokemon Go craze they would have been found in double quick time.

But there has been a happy ending for the 23-year-old as the clubs turned up well in time for tee off, putting to rest any fears he would miss out on the Games.

Sharing his elation on Twitter, Grillo perfectly encapsulated the loving relationship between golfer and bag, while vowing never to part with his clubs again...that is until he next has to board a flight.

Grillo is part of a two-man Argentina team along with Fabian Gomez for the return of golf at the Olympics and he has been in good form heading into Rio 2016 with four top-15 finishes in his last six events on the PGA Tour, including a tie for 13th at the US PGA Championship.
