The legendary keeper was in post for the Soviet Union and played in four different World Cups throughout his career.

Yashin still remains the only goalkeeper to win the Ballon D’or and that in itself is one amazing feet.

The former Dynamo Moscow goalkeeper played 74 times for the Soviet Union National Team and 326 games for his club side.

The poster as designed by Russian Artiste Igor Gurovich is one interesting phenomena as the goalkeeping department in the sport usually seems sidelined.

The Chairman of the Russia 2018 World Cup LOC did say there was the need to depict Russia as the host of the 2018 World Cup and Yashin epitomized Russian Football.

Also, he believed that this very poster will be one of the most memorable ones for years to come.

Thee artiste said he was inspired by the constructive art of the 1920’s and that that the visual language is thought as Russian throughout the world.

Yashin died in 1990 at the age of 60
