Stuart Broad fined for Aleem Dar dissent by ICC

England paceman Stuart Broad has been fined 30 per cent of his match fee after twice telling umpire Aleem Dar to "get on with the game" on day four of the second Test against South Africa.

Match referee Ranjan Madugalle conducted a hearing following the penultimate day of the Newlands Test on Tuesday as a result of Broad's conduct in the 195th over of the Proteas' innings.

The 29-year-old was deemed to have shown dissent by on-field umpires Dar and Bruce Oxenford, third umpire Rod Tucker and fourth umpire Shaun George.

Dar had issued a warning to England captain Alastair Cook after Broad kicked the pitch in frustration on a long day in the field for the tourists, which saw South Africa declare on 627-7.

Broad pleaded not guilty, but has been hit in the pocket after being deemed to have breached Article 2.1.5 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which relates to "showing dissent at an umpire's decision during an international match".
