Italian Giants AC Milan have dismissed the manager of the club Vincenzo Montella.

The ex-AS Roma footballer signed to be man the affairs at the club in 2016 which saw him take the club through a decent season as he managed to get the club a Europa League berth.

The last time AC Milan made it to any European competition was in the 2013/2014 season of the UEFA Champions League.

The side are in pole position to qualify for the next round and top Group D in the Europa League.

However, this has not been the same story in the league as the team finds itself 7th on the Italian log following a wholesale transfer of different players which cost close to 175 million pounds.

Montalla has thereby been dismissed by the club as announced by the club’s twitter feed and is to be replaced by U-19 coach Gennaro Gattuso.

Gennaro Gattuso played for AC Milan from 1999 to 2013 and will therefore have his name encrypted in the hearts and lips of trusted AC Milan fans.

Gattuso started his coaching career with FC Sion as player manager and moved on to Italy where he moved on to Parlemo then Greek side OFI Crete and later Italian Serie B team Pisa.

Gennaro Gatttuso was in charge of Milan’s U-19 team before being appointed senior team manager.

Gattuso won two Italian Seria A titles and two UEFA Champions League.
