Maame Dokono claimed on the “After Hours” on TV3 that the Dancehall king was the gong beater on the show.

“Shatta Wale was beating the gong on By The Fireside” Omaboe stated.

However, a post by Shatta Wale on March 25, 2016, disputes the claim.

Shatta auditioned for the role when he was younger but because he was not fluent in Twi he did not get the role.

“You wanted to play a role in your by the fireside series as a gong-gong beater. In fact, I trust if my Twi was good at that time. I would’ve been in it but u said one thing which touched my heart at that tender age that “wow boy, you are very good and will go far just learn the Twi for me ok” a fraction of his post read.
