Rapper is developing a HBO Drama series

Snoop Dogg announced on Friday during his speech at SXSW that he will exec produce a drama about 1980s Los Angeles.

To be directed by Allen Hughes, the show will center around a family living in inner-city L.A. and will explore the effects of Reagan-era social policies on the area.

“HBO is the No. 1 network in the world as far as developing and having these types of shows come to life.

“This is a dream come true to be able to tell a story that’s going to be told the right way on the right network.” - He said.
