Ginobili was able to remain healthy for the majority of the 2015-16 campaign but did suffer a testicular injury in February that forced him to miss 12 games.

"I am determined to continue playing in the NBA. I did not have many doubts. The reality is that I feel more certain and I see it more clearly than last year," Ginobili wrote.

"The season went well for me and aside the 'minor' incident in February I remained healthy. I definitely want to keep enjoying basketball for a little while longer."

Ginobili has spent his entire career with San Antonio. The four-time NBA champion holds career averages of 14 points, 4 assists and 3.7 rebounds.

He averaged the fewest minutes of his career (19.6) last season, averaging 9.6 points, 3.1 assists and 2.5 rebounds per game while shooting 45 per cent from the field.
