Steelers' Martavis Bryant accepts one-year suspension
Reports over the??weekend indicated Bryant was facing a season-long ban and he??will now miss the entire 2016 campaign.
The suspension comes after Byrant, who was banned for four games last term??due to a number of??violations of the substance-abuse??policy, was said to have missed multiple drugs tests.
He had reportedly planned to appeal the sanction??but will instead begin serving his lengthy suspension immediately.
A statement released on Monday from an NFL spokesperson read: "Martavis Bryant??of the Pittsburgh Steelers has been suspended without pay for a minimum of one year for violating the NFL Policy and Program for Substances of Abuse. Bryant's suspension begins immediately."
One of his agents,??Brian??Fettner, told USA Today on??Saturday that Bryant??will check into a rehab facility and??undergo an evaluation for depression issues. Fettner said Bryant also??has a problem with marijuana.
Bryant, entering his third season for Pittsburgh, recorded 50 catches for??765 yards and six touchdowns??in 2015 after missing the first four games. He??has??76 receptions for??1,314 yards and 15 scores in 21 career games and eight starts.??
