Super League: Jodie Broughton returns to haunt Giants

Former Huddersfield Giants winger Jodie Broughton scored a second-half hat-trick??against his former club as Catalans Dragons picked up a comfortable 46-26 victory at the John Smith's Stadium.

Broughton made the move to France earlier this year and produced a punishing display on his return, his three scores all coming in a devastating 13-minute spell.

Louis Anderson and Glenn Stewart crossed the line to hand Catalans a 12-point lead, but Huddersfield battled back with Jake Connor, Jermaine McGillvary, Larne Patrick and Leroy Cudjoe all crossing the line to ensure they went into the interval ahead.

However, Broughton intercepted a Joe Wardle pass to score early in the second half, and he touched down again before Wardle was shown a red card for a high hit on Remi Casty.

Broughton soon completed his hat-trick and Paul Aiton, Julian Bousquet and Richie Myler all added tries to seal??a comfortable triumph.

Hull KR secured their first win??of the Super League season by running in seven tries as they beat Salford Red Devils 44-30.

James Webster was appointed interim head coach this month following the departure of Chris Chester, and secured a maiden triumph in his sixth game at the helm.

Craig Kopczak put Salford into an early lead, but Rovers responded with scores from Maurice Blair, Iain Thornley, Graeme Horne, Ken Sio and James Greenwood to put??them into a commanding 30-6 lead at the break.

Salford looked on course for a remarkable comeback with a pair of tries from Josh Griffin and one from Greg Johnson, but Ryan Shaw crossed for the hosts before Kopczak and Matty Marsh exchanged scores late on.??
