Series set new ratings record

The superhero series pulled in 14 million viewers, achieving a 3.2 rating with adults ages 18 to 49, Variety reports.

The  show was which was aired after the multiple award winning 'The Big Bang Theory,'  emerged as best for a series premiere this fall.

In the superhero series, Melissa Benoist plays Kara Zor-El, who escapes the destruction on Krypton to join her cousin on Earth.
