Man chews off step-son’s ear for defending mother

A young man, Christopher Bassey, has lost one of his ears after his step-father bit it off because he went to defend his mother in a fight between her and the man, Udeme Inim.

The incident happened in the Ebute-Meta area of Lagos.

The Akwa Ibom State born Inim, a bus loader working with Cross Country Transport Company, allegedly had a disagreement with his wife who is Bassey's mother and descended on the woman but the young man could not take the assault on his mother and went to intervene.

Inim left his wife and attacked his step-son and in the process, bit off his right ear.

The victim was rushed to a hospital shortly after he reported the matter to the Iponri Police Station, but his ear could not be saved.
