Tullow’s Ten Oil fields commence first oil production

According to the oil producer, first oil should be poured in the next three weeks as 96% of work on the wells has completed.

Tullow Ghana’s Tweneboa, Enyenra, Ntomme (Ten) Project is expected to produce first oil in July, 2016.

In the company’s trading and operational update report, Chief Executive Officer of Tullow Oil PLC, Aiden Heavy said the Ten Oil Fields will start a daily production of 23,000 barrels in the next six weeks.

The company also sought to assure investors that, recent challenges with the FPSO Kwame Nkrumah’s Turret Bearing notwithstanding, daily oil production be maintained at 90,000 barrels a day for the rest of 2016. It also assured investors that it has procured a comprehensive insurance policy to cover future challenges with production.

This means the TEN Project is on schedule as proposed. However, earlier production estimation was supposed to be 80,000 barrels a day in the first production year of 2016.

The Tweneboa, Enyenra and Ntomme (TEN) project showcase is a joint-venture partnership between Tullow, Kosmos Energy, Anadarko Petroleum, Petro SA and the  GNPC.

They are located in the Deepwater Tano licence which covers an area of more than 800 sq km, and lies around 20km west of Tullow’s Jubilee field.
