Thirteen years after the original series run, FOX has ordered a new chapter of 'The X-Files' TV series.

After thirteen years, the Chris Carter created show 'X-Files' is returning to FOX network.

This was announced by Dana Walden and Gary Newman, Chairmen and CEOs of Fox Television Group and Chris Carter.
The upcoming six-episode event series will be directed by creator/executive producer, Chris Carter with David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson taking up their roles as FBI Agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully.
Production on the event series is set to begin in summer 2015.
'The X-Files' originally premiered in September 1993 and remains one of the longest-running sci-fi series in network television history.

The 16 Emmy and five Golden Globes award winning movie revolves around FBI special agents Scully and Mulder as they investigate unexplained cases.
