Telecommunications company, TIGO Ghana has laid off over 80 workers from its marketing, commercial and sections.

A management member who confirmed the news to Pulse Business under condition of anonymity confirmed to Pulse Business that over 70 workers has been laid off so far, with 30 more to be added in the coming weeks.
The retrenchment has affected the marketing department, commercial, call center, PR, and HR departments.
According to the management member, the move is to cut cost and make the company more competitive.
Tigo Ghana is fast losing its market share to close contender and fourth largest telecommunication company, Airtel Ghana, as it has been struggling lately to keep up with stiff competition from market contenders.
