Racing 92 boosted their chances of a top-two finish in the Top 14 with a 30-14 victory over La Rochelle.

Beaten in the play-off quarter-finals last year, Racing are looking to secure an automatic last-four berth this time around.

And Friday's deserved away victory moved them level on points with second-placed Toulon.

The visitors led after five minutes courtesy of Juan Imhoff's try, with Maxime Javaux adding the extras before kicking a penalty.

A trio of Zack Holmes three-pointers reduced the deficit, but one from the boot of Javaux and another try for Imhoff put the breaks on a comeback.

Hikairo Forbes' early second-half try was as good as it got for La Rochelle after that, with Javaux again clearing the posts and Brice Dulin crossing late on to seal it for the away side.
