Defeat to Bangladesh in the opening round of matches left Peter Borren's side requiring a victory over Oman, who recorded a shock win against??Ireland in their first game.

However, although a belated??toss took place at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium after morning showers, no play was possible as the heavens soon opened again.

Ireland were facing the same fate as Netherlands if the rain did not relent ahead of their pool match with Bangladesh at the same venue, scheduled to start at 14:00 GMT.
