A National Democratic Congress (NDC) communicator, who labelled Ghanaian celebrities above 30 years and unmarried as “prostitutes” and “irresponsible", for airing their frustration with the current power fluctuation in the country has indicated that he will join the ‘dumsor vigil’ come May 16.

Ghanaian celebrities Yvonne Nelson, Sarkodie and Lydia Forson will lead a vigil to put pressure on the John Mahama-led administration to solve the erratic supply of electricity which has lingered on for close to three years.

Speaking on Asempa FM’s “Kukurantumi” show, Alhaji Halidu Haruna disclosed that he intends joining the protest because of its non-partisan nature. He indicated that he will reconcile with actress Yvonne Nelson at the grounds.“I will join them, dumsor indeed must stop…,” he said.

Celebrities expected to join the May 16 vigil include Yvonne Nelson, Sarkodie, Ama K. Abebrese, DKB, Kweku Elliot, D-Black, Eddie Watson, Becca, Deborah Vanessa, Efya, Kwaw Kese, EL, Nikki Samonas, Van Vicker, XO Senavoe, Confidence Haugen and many more.

The vigil dubbed #dumsormuststop, according to organisers will be held at Green Park opposite the Villagio at the Tettey Quashie Interchange.
