19-yr-old dropout destroys father's Volvo car with hammer

A school dropout has destroyed his father's Volvo car with a hammer after he was restrained from selling it as scrap.

Preye Egbon, a 19-year-old Electrical Engineering apprentice had wanted to sell his father's faulty Volvo 40L car, which had been parked for over two years at their residence at Erhue Close, Oghara, Delta State, as scrap metal to scavengers.

On arriving with the scavenger to value the car, his uncle, Enakaya Egbon, restrained him.

The scavenger had already asked to pay N15,000 while Preye wanted N20,000.

But his uncle scuttled the entire transaction, walked out the scavenger and reprimanded the teenager for 'lack of vision', according to media reports.

Angered, the teenager returned and took vengeance on the car, destroying it beyond redemption.
