According to the GNA, the self-styled man of God threatened Christian Mantse with a knife and demanded the said amount from him while his accomplice tied his neck with rope from the back.

The court presided over by Mrs. Abena Oppong Adjin Doku refused a bail application filed by lawyer for the accused and remanded him to reappear on January 2, 2018, after he pleaded not guilty to the charges of conspiracy to commit robbery and robbery.

Chief Inspector Kwabena Adu narrated to the court that on December 10, this year, at about 20:30 hours, Debrah stopped Mr. Mantse at Bubuashie and asked to be taken to East Legon.

He said another person boarded the car just after both the accused and the complainant had agreed on the fare.

Inspector Adu added that, when the taxi got to a particular spot, the ‘pastor’ pulled a knife and ordered the driver to give him GHȼ200.00, while the accomplice sitting at the back of the car ‘tied a rope to his neck.

Prosecution said the driver complied and gave out the requested amount, but the accused snatched and threw away the ignition key.

The complainant shouted for help and a police officer at a post nearby instructed Bright Debrah to stop as he and his accomplice tried to escape, but he ignored the officer. He even threatened to stab a man who attempted to arrest him.

However, Debrah was overpowered by residents and taken to the East Legon Police Station.
