Gabby Otchere-Darko, Citi FM MD heckled in New York

In a video circulating online, a leading member of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) and a member of President Akufo-Addo's inner caucus, Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko and Samuel Atta-Mensah (Sammens), CEO of Accra-based Citi FM were heckled by some of the demonstrators.

The main opposition party, National Democratic Congress (NDC) demonstration against President Nana Akufo-Addo in New York on Thursday, September 21, 2017, took a different direction.

The demonstration themed "Ghana is not safe under Nana Addo's government" was originally intended to focus on President Akufo-Addo who was scheduled to address the UN General Assembly.

President Nana Akufo-Addo and some dignitaries are currently in the United States for the 72nd United Nations General Assembly debate.

More than 100 world leaders, thousands of diplomats and advocates will convene from 19-25 September 2017. This year’s theme is “Focusing on people — striving for peace and a decent life for all on a sustainable planet”.
