In a video circulating online, a leading member of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) and a member of President Akufo-Addo's inner caucus, Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko and Samuel Atta-Mensah (Sammens), CEO of Accra-based Citi FM were heckled by some of the demonstrators.

The main opposition party, National Democratic Congress (NDC) demonstration against President Nana Akufo-Addo in New York on Thursday, September 21, 2017, took a different direction.

The demonstration themed "Ghana is not safe under Nana Addo's government" was originally intended to focus on President Akufo-Addo who was scheduled to address the UN General Assembly.

President Nana Akufo-Addo and some dignitaries are currently in the United States for the 72nd United Nations General Assembly debate.
