Eddie Nketiah’s first, coming in the 13th minute, was a gorgeous finish reminiscent of the great Thierry Henry.

Nketiah’s third came just two minutes after his second, volleying home a cross at the far post.

He signed from Chelsea as a 14-year-old and Arsenal youngster Eddie Nketiah tonight showed that he’s ready to take the step up into senior football with a superb hat-trick for the U23s.

The 17-year-old forward only signed his first professional contract in September but his performance against Leicester suggests it won’t be his last Arsenal contract.
