Fisherfolks angry over high cost of outboard motors

According to them, although over thousands of the equipment had been made available to them, they in the Western region are without it because they cannot afford it.

Fisher folks in the Western region have been complaining bitterly about the cost of outboard motors at a subsided price by government.

The fisherfolks made this known when they met the president in the region as part of his 'Accounting to the people tour'.

President Mahama was accompanied by the minister for Fisheries, Sherry Ayitey,the Minister of Communication, Dr.Omane Boamah ,Deputy Minister of Roads and Highways, Isaac Adjei -Mensah, as well as other government functionaries.

The event which formed part of the president’s accounting to the people tour was taking place at the GNAT hall at Fijai in Takoradi.
