Westhanboyz WESTHOOD EP Is the perfect embodiment of alternative African Pop

Westhanboyz are back with a new body of work, WESTHOOD, a five track EP that captures the duo’s evolving sound, youthful energy and genre-fluid approach to music.

Rather than confining themselves to one sound, Westhanboyz move freely across Afrobeats, Afropop, Afrosounds, hip-hop and alternative, blending these influences into a sound that feels distinctly their own. _WESTHOOD_ is a reflection of that versatility, a project built around experimentation, melody, rhythm and the different musical influences that shape the group.

Across its five tracks, the EP presents different sides of Westhanboyz while maintaining a clear identity. Their approach is less about fitting neatly into an existing genre and more about creating music that can move between sounds, moods and audiences.

With WESTHOOD, Westhanboyz are positioning themselves as part of a new generation of African artists who are comfortable crossing boundaries. Their music draws from the energy of contemporary Afrobeats and Afropop while making room for hip-hop, alternative sounds and other influences, creating a fusion that reflects the group’s personality and generation.

The project also marks an important step in the duo’s growth. WESTHOOD is not simply a collection of songs; it is an introduction to the world Westhanboyz are building around their music.

Speaking about the project, Westhanboyz describe WESTHOOD as a representation of where they are creatively at this point in their journey, young, experimental, energetic and unwilling to be boxed into one sound.

With a growing audience and a sound that continues to evolve, WESTHOOD gives listeners an opportunity to experience Westhanboyz beyond a single record and understand the wider musical direction they are building toward.

WESTHOOD is available on all major streaming platforms.
