An adductor injury has forced 2011 runner-up Jo-Wilfried Tsonga to withdraw from Queen's ahead of Wimbledon.

Tsonga retired hurt in the third round of the French Open last month and the Frenchman has not recovered in time for the grass-court tournament, starting Monday.

The 2008 Australian Open runner-up is the second big name to pull out after Rafael Nadal succumbed to a wrist injury.

"I am very disappointed that this injury means that I will not be able to play in the Aegon Championships," said Tsonga.

"It is one of my favourite tournaments, home of some very happy moments for me on the court - reaching the top 100 for the first time and playing in the final - and I was looking forward to coming back. I hope to return in the future."

Aljaz Bedene has replaced Tsonga in the main draw as Andy Murray attempts to defend his title at Queen's Club before Wimbledon gets underway on June 27.
